"We spent two wonderful nights at Corbett Tiger Reserve - we were lucky enough to have a 5 minute tiger sighting which was an amazing experience.  The rest of the time at the park was great - seeing the natural habitat and numerous other animals including wild elephants.  The morning elephant safari was also a highlight exploring the grassland through the mist.

We arrived in Ramnagar unsure of what to expect in Corbett Tiger Reserve - India had been such an adventure to date - and to see a tiger "in the flesh" has been a life long wish !! After our " meet and greet" at Foodies - we headed for the reserve. Five minutes into the reserve we knew we had made a very sensible and wise decision as the peace and tranquility of the forest and reserve - after the hectic 12 days of travel - was like manna from heaven. We absorbed the greenery and sounds and smells with delight and immediately felt relaxed. It was not long before we spotted our first game - spotted deer and the not too far down the track - 6 sambhar deer which is apparantly rather unusual to see that many together. To cut a long story short - we saw more game than we expected and the hospitality and organzation offered by Koustubh and his team was 5 star !!

The trip was truly satisfying. Frankly, we were little concerned with tiger spotting. It was the nature that brought us there and we were happy that we got it preserved well and in plenty. The clean and pure air, with no noise to bother us, it was a great get away from the daily routine. The resort, The Wild Trail, offered a very courteous and comfortable stay. The staff was helpful and guided us about the nearby spots. The food was excellent. Though we had some trouble with water and had to rely on packaged water bottles, the cause was more of weak immunity than anything else. The jeep safari was great. The jungle was breathtakingly beautiful and definitely intimidating. The tall grass and dense foliage had its effect. The efforts of Jim Corbett authority to keep it as natural as possible is visible, and laudable.

We appreciate your organising skills. We didn't face any trouble, whatsoever, from start to end. The transfers, check-ins, arrangements were smooth and as desired. I shall certainly request your services in near future, whenever we visit Corbett National Park again, may be, with friends and family.

At the heart of the Corbett zone, Dhikala is a great place to stay. The safaris were exciting, we spotted Elephants, Jackals, Wild boars and of course deer, but missed sighting the elusive tiger. hfood and the hospitality in the guset house was par excellence. Overall it was a exciting trip. Irshad was a very hospitable driver and Zakir the guide was helpful too. Thanks Kostubh for organizing this trip. We would love to come back in May and spend 3 to 4 days just doing Safaris inside Dhikala.

MADRAS NATURALIST'S ANNUAL NATURE CAMP AT JIM CORBETT NATIONAL PARK

Every year in the month of April or May MNS used have a nature camp for its members in one of well known major national Park. This time MNS had selected the Corbett National Park and started the ways and means to organize it. On going through various sources which are flexible to MNS as it members are keen bird watchers, I had found out Mr.Kostubh Pandey email of 2007 to me from various sources was encouraging   and immediately into him for charting the entire program to us from April 23^rd to 28^th.

As it was a budgeted one he had nicely accommodated well within it with very good comfort and as programmed by us. Of the 5 days safaris except the last day all our members sighted tigers that is one at Sitavani range, two at Bijrani and two at Dhikala grass land. Our five jeeps on our way to Dhikala and back encountered two tuskers of which one was in musk but behaved like a real “Gentle Giant”.

The two local naturalists who had accompanied us ('Khem Pandey' & 'Manoj Kandpal') are really good as they are well versed about Corbett jungle’s flora and funa.Alltogether we had counted more than 150 species of birds and many reptiles of that place. It was really memorable trip for us.

We are back at home, after an adventurous and novel experience trekking in the forests around Jim Corbett National Park, and still recounting the stories of our trip.

 

A big thank you to you for the warmth and personalized care you extended to all of us; it made the trip very special . Arrangements of place of stay, food, itinerary and overall planning were very good , and thumbs up to you in terms of understanding the needs of our group in particular.



   

 

As you told us, its a first for you to have a group of only ladies come and trek like this in the forest. Given our chief criteria of safety, great forest experience with a well qualified guide, and cleanliness, we were very satisfied by your set up. We loved the Eco-village setup at Choti Haldwani , and enjoyed the service of the pleasant, efficient staff there, including the cook--who dished out delicious, fresh pahari food -- and our guide Mohan Panday. Do convey our appreciation to them once again.

 

Well done also for the selection of Mr. Rajesh Bhatt as our forest guide for the Powalgarh trek. Mr. Rajesh bhatt's briefing and preparatory talk before the big march of 22kms from Choti Haldwani to Powalgarh will remain with us, specially his line, " In the jungle there is no risk , at the same time there is nothing fix !"

Of course the great breakfast and lunch in the forest trek were one of the highlights of the day, and a big reason to keep us marching on and on.  We also greatly enjoyed all the sites for our breaks, like the  beautiful and mystic Shiddh Sthal by the river side, the Watchtower in the grasslands , and the river crossings and glades en route. We surprised ourselves with the ease and enjoyment with which the day was spent walking mile after mile exploring and interpreting the jungle. The group worked well together and we always felt well guided and well looked after.

Evening arrival at Powalgarh Forest Rest House was another memorable highlight. The timing at sunset, with the picturesque village on one side and the dense forest just behind us with crystal clear canal gurgling in front of the gate....it  was dramatic and straight of a Jim Corbett's book. Lovely selection of site for our night stay--the very sight of the place energized and enthused us.

After an adventurous night walk and night stay, we were all really full of the feel of the jungle and high on the spirit of adventure. A brisk morning walk in the nippy chill , with some bird-watching and village experiences in the picture-postcard pretty village was a beautiful experience with which to round off our stay in the Corbett country.

 

So that is the review of our trip and our happy experience with you. My friends join me in wishing you all success in your ventures and we hope you go on to do very well .

Thank You for the wonderful and memorable trip. You certainly made it an awesome experience for all of us.

It was a great experience right from the moment you welcomed us till the time we departed. The safaris at Jhirna and Sitabani range were really awesome (the open jeeps made them even better). The wild life we saw was a delight to the eyes as it was something very different and unique and would not have been seen at any other destination we would have visited in India. Spotting a tiger in the wilds is still pending for our next trip!



The sight seeing at Garjia temple and Corbett museum were also very exciting especially the temple because of the scenic location. We could even grab interesting souvenirs from the souvenir shop near the museum.

The adventure activities which we did were also super awesome. It was exciting and unique,especially the Bridge Fall and the Filmy Stunt.

The stay arrangements were very good, especially the food which was very delicious! The river side resort made our stay even more pleasant as we could have a dip in the running river which is a one of its kind experience!

Your personal presence at the time of check in and check out and at the time of adventure activities was really valuable and we all would like to thank you for the wonderful three days that we enjoyed at Jim Corbett National Park inspite of the core areas being closed.

After recommendation of family we visited the Corbett reserve. Although we heared some stories, we were really surprised by the number of animals that we saw. The guide Mr.khem and his driver Chhote put a lot of effort in showing us the wildlife. We spotted a lot of deer, monkeys and birds. Most animals aren't shy at all and are visible from very close. We even saw a tiger crossing the road less than 10 meters away from us.

The tour was absolutely fantastic , exhilarating experience in the wilderness of corbett park woderfully planned and managed by sams travel house.One the very first trip we had the luck to witness spotting of a herd of 12 to 15 wild elephants and also tiger apart from usual spottings of barking deer , spotted deer, soft shelled tortoise, langurs. kudos to sams for organising this memorable trip....

"It was a very thrilling experience rite from the day 1.The most adventurous safari i had in my life.Right from the day 1 we were in search for tiger,and we traced it out on the final day which tested our patience.A very beautiful,magnificient,n the most adorable animal in the jungle.The tiger is truly the "greatest fentleman in the jungle". The yellow thorated marten was the rare sighting of the safari.We spotted many beautiful birds we hadnt seen earlier like the river side red start, crested kingfisher, blue whisling thrust etc. We really miss the safari,the dense lush of Sal trees which covers the roadways, the beautiful landscapes, the ramganga river, night in the jungle resort, experience with Pandeyji with a toast of rum,and everyone individual in corbett who contributed to our trip.Lots more to write,so i take a note hoping to return to this jungle once again, meeting all u Pandey bros once again."

Visited CTR with old friend, after previous trip to Kashmir in 1978. India has changed a lot during these years Hectis traffic and even internet in a small office! 'Khem' and our driver 'chhote' were very helpfull and  have knowlegde about wildlife. Also when jeep broke down in the middle of nowhere, it was fixed with an screwdriver and some wire! Just as well, because we were a long way in the Jungle.

Apart from many kinds of birds, big raptors ans small bie- eaters, we saw 4 species of deer, the choral, mountain goat, and as a bonus two yellow chrested martens, playing only 20 meters away. And the tiger twice, first time with a lot of Jeeps around it, the poor old female had no much peace with shouting people making photo' s. Second time we were very lucky. Saw big male come out a patch of reedland, where he must have been sleeping all day, and he walked towards us. We saw him for alt least 20 minutes.

To keep a long story short: a wonderfull expierence!!
